The BASE-UK AGM Conference will be held on 5th and 6th February 2019.

VENUE: The Haycock Hotel, Wansford, Nr Peterborough PE8 6JA

The proposed programme is as follows but not necessarily in the order laid out and is subject to change:

Tuesday 5th February

  • Audrey Litterick – Maintaining and enhancing soil health – the importance of a multi-point approach.
  • Simon Cowell – Winner of The Soil Farmer of the Year Competition.
  • Angus Gowthorpe – Runner-Up of The Soil Farmer of the Year Competition.
  • Gary Markham – Benchmarking results – is no till the Brexit answer?
  • “Interactive Session” with all the speakers of the day.

Wednesday 6th February

  • AGM
  • Jackie Stroud – The earthworm and its importance for UK agriculture.
  • Tom Storr – Cover crops in a cereal and salad rotation.
  • Andy Barr – Mistakes Were Made – the slow evolution of a lower tillage, higher diversity, system in mid Kent.
  • “Interactive Session” with all the speakers of the day.


  • BASE UK Members:                                       1 day only – £70               Both days – £120.
  • NON-BASE-UK Members:                             1 day only – £250               Both days – £300.

Dinner on Tuesday evening is included whether you are there for 1 day or both, so please indicate if you will be dining when booking.  If you are unable to attend on Tuesday during the day but can get to The Haycock for dinner, we would be delighted if you can join us – dinner will be served at 7.00 pm.  Dinner will be 3 courses followed by cheese and coffee.
