Added 22nd March 2019 – Alice Santin – 3 month internship from Mid June 2019. She writes:
I am Alice Santin, a French student in an engineering school of agronomy in Nancy. Through a contact, I discovered the association BASE and I am very interested in Conservation agriculture.
I am currently pursuing a graduate degree at ENSAIA (Ecole Nationale Supérieur d’Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires) in Nancy, France. I am in my second year of a 3-year programme, specialising in agronomy and agriculture.. As part of my curriculum, I am required to carry out an three-month internship in a foreign country, starting in the middle of June.
I am writing you because I would like to now if it possible to do it in the association. Thanks to this internship, I would like to deepen my knowledge in Conservation Agriculture to be competent in this area for my futur job as agricultural consultant. If it is not possible, do you have some contact who work on this subjet and with whom I could carry out my internship ?
I have notions about this theme thanks to the courses that I received and thanks to my personal research. My father as a grain farmer transmitted to me, the values of a productive agriculture but with the least impact on soil and environment. He started the no-till farming for fifteen years now.
During my studies, I have had classes on crop and animal production system, soil system, soil diversity, plant and animal genetic breeding, crop protection, plant ecophysiology. I did a training period in a farm where I discovered integrated agriculture that they use for their crop production and where they use the principles of permaculture for their vegetable production.
I like to learn; I am inquisitive and invested in my work. I listen to other people, which I think it is important when we work with farmers. I appreciate working in a team and exchanging ideas with others.
I am sensitive to the future of agriculture. I want to help farmers to develop their farm the right way, adapted to the economic context and to the environmental issues.
I attached to this mail my CV.
I thank you for your time and consideration. I remain at your disposal should you require any further information and I look forward to your response.
