Regenerative Farming and Profitability
Posted November, 7th, 2020
Nick Woodyatt presented at our Member Meeting on Thursday 5th November. Nick says:
"This talk comes from the side of the agronomist and is directly connected to the talk that will be given by Tim Parton who will answer by giving the farmers viewpoint.
We hear many reasons for going down the Regenerative/Nutritional/Carbon farming route most of which are based on saving the planet. Although Nick agrees with this premise he comes from an direction of ‘farm profitability’ because a profitable farm can do far more for the soil and the future of agriculture than a farm that has to give much of its profits to the chemical companies.
We will look at the three pillars of regen farming, Low Nitrogen inputs, High Carbon inputs and the addition of Silicon."
Thanks to Nick for his time and we look forward to hearing Tim's perspective in a couple of weeks.
