Groundswell No-Till Show 2017

Posted July, 20th, 2017

We spent two very busy days at the second Groundswell No Till Show on the 28th and 29th June.  Whilst the weather on the Wednesday turned rather cold and wet (especially compared to the 30 degrees the previous week!) there was a good footfall through the stand on this first Livestock day.  There was a great deal of interest in how livestock can be integrated into a no-till system which was demonstrated in some of the photographs playing on our TV.

The second day, which was the No-Till day, drew more than double the attendees of the livestock day with many of the speakers available to hear on both days.  Visitors to the stand commented on how much they were learning yet again and the with better weather the demonstrations were received with great enthusiasm.

Many members and non-members visited the stand to enjoy a hot drink and cake as well as the comfy sofas which Alex Cherry had provided us and to take the opportunity to chat about speakers, demonstrations and what BASE UK does.  We were also very pleased to welcome some of BASE Ireland’s members.  There were also several other visitors from across Europe – Germany, Denmark, Latvia – all keen to share their knowledge and learn from experts and others working in the field.

To learn more about the event, visit the Groundswell website: Groundswell Ag and please make a note of the show dates for next year which will be on the 27th and 28th June 2018.
