10th ANNIVERSARY AGM CONFERENCE 7th and 8th FEBRUARY 2023

Join us for our 10th AGM Conference to celebrate a decade of “Growing Confidence” amongst our community.
Tuesday 7th February: Frederic Thomas - The future of farming and where we are placed to help; Vicki Robinson - Nuffield Scholar, Farmer to Farmer Knowledge Exchange: Relevance and challenges during change; Duncan Wilson - Aiming for Sustainable Cows on a Sustainable Farm; Tom Storr - Implementing regenerative agriculture at Dyson Farming”; Alastair Leake - The Allerton Project - 30 years of Farming with the Fnvironment; Becky Willson - FCCT - Digging out the answers - the soil carbon project; Elizabeth Stockdale - What works for soil management and how can we work it out better together; David Hyner - Why “SMART” goals DON'T work!.
Wednesday 8th February: Frederic Thomas - Carbon, Nitrogen and soil life: how to develop self-fertility and manage fertilization in Conservation Agriculture; Steve Townsend - Soil chemistry and the importance of correct balance; James Warne - Soil and crop nutrient for disease and pest proof crops; Lance Charity - Young farmer starting out; Joel Williams -Growing Together: Managing diversity as a process, not a destination; Anna Jackson – Working with my Dad on “Six inches of Soil”.

TO BOOK YOUR CONFERENCE TICKET: Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the days you will be attending and whether you will stay for dinner on Tuesday evening – along with your dinner menu choices. Please advise if you have any dietary requirements or allergies, we need to make the hotel aware of.
BASE-UK Members One day *£80 + VAT = £96 Both days £135 + VAT = £162
Non-Members One day *£175 + VAT = £210 Both days £325 + VAT = £390
*This includes dinner if required. There is no discount for not having dinner.
If you would like to bring a wife/husband/partner to dinner only (not attending the conference) the cost is £43/head. Please provide their name and dinner selections.

S1 - Spiced cauliflower & butternut squash soup (V) (VE) (GF)
S2 - Mango & brie parcel, pickled red onions, lemon mayonnaise & pea shoots (V)
S3 - Roast asparagus, bacon & cheese tart, caramelized tomato chutney & red chard.
M1 - Braised beef & Yorkshire pudding, gratin potato, leeks, carrots & red onion, horseradish puree & red wine gravy.
M2- Roast pork loin, gratin potato, crispy leeks, honey glazed carrots & green beans cider apple sauce.
M3 - Mushroom & leek pie, crushed garlic & chive potatoes, peas & green beans, confit tomato cassoulet (V) (VE) (GF). D1 - Baked vanilla cheesecake, white chocolate shards.
D2 - Chocolate & orange tart, orange sorbet & kumquat (VE) (V) (GF)
D3 - Liquor Infused Melon Fruit Salad, Citrus Sorbet (V) (VE).
Cheese will follow dessert along with tea/coffee to finish the meal.
HOW TO PAY:
Once your booking information has been received you will be emailed an invoice for payment and confirmation of your place will be sent once payment is received. Invoices are sent via QuickBooks so if you do not receive it, please check your spam/junk mailbox, or contact me.
No bookings will be confirmed without receipt of payment.
ACCOMMODATION: If you require B&B at The Crowne Plaza, please follow this LINK to receive our preferential rate. (You need to contact me to book your conference place – please do not forget!). Please ensure you amend the dates and number of people occupying the room as required but do not alter the rate as this has already been fixed to apply our rate.
By booking directly you will receive the preferential price of £105/room/night for single occupancy (£15 additional charge for double occupancy – please note that the link will not show this additional charge, but the hotel will contact you about this), and free parking under the hotel which is normally £15/day. If you decide to book via a 3rd party internet site, you will not show on the BASE-UK bedroom booking list and may not benefit from the same offer we have been given. Hotel offer no longer available.

Travel Information: Please note, to get to the hotel car park, please use the postcode NG1 5FW in your Satnav, not the hotel’s postcode. There is access directly from the car park into the hotel. What3Words vibrates.hits.racing takes you to the carpark entrance ramp.
The nearest train station is Nottingham which is approximately 14 minutes’ walk from the hotel or there are 2 trams heading for the city centre. Get off at Royal Centre Stop (3 stops from the station).
The nearest airport is East Midlands. There is a bus service (Sky Link) from the airport to Nottingham.

9.30 am – Conference commences.
4.30 pm – Conferences closes – refreshments will be available prior to leaving.
