AGM CONFERENCE WEDNESDAY 7th and THURSDAY 8th FEBRUARY 2024.
VENUE: The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham
SPEAKERS (subject to change):
- Jay Fuhrer - Soil Health Specialist and pioneer from Bismarck, North Dakota. He has boots-on-the-ground experience of over 38 years.
- Ademir Calegari – from South Brazil - He started working with no-till, cover crops, and crop rotations in 1977 and is also Frederic Thomas’s mentor.
- Donna Udall - Donna was brought up on a hill farm in Mid-Wales producing lamb and beef. With undergraduate degrees in both business and finance and plant science, Donna now combines her pragmatic farming and business background with plant and soil science knowledge to investigate relationships between investing in renewable technologies, such as pyrolysis and anaerobic digesters, and use of the products on-farm.

COST: EARLY BIRD OFFER – BOOK BEFORE 5TH JANUARY 2024!
As we are asked to provide an early commitment for numbers by the hotel, we would appreciate bookings as early as possible and therefore we are offering a discount for those who book and pay before 5th January 2024.
BASE-UK Members One day *£90 + VAT = £118 Both days £150 + VAT = £180
Non-Members One day *£195 + VAT = £234 Both days £360 + VAT = £432
*This includes dinner if required. There is no discount for not having dinner.
If you would like to bring a wife/husband/partner to dinner only (not attending the conference) the cost is £48/head. Please provide their name and dinner selections.
From 5th January 2024, tickets will be increased by £20 (except dinner only tickets).
HOW TO BOOK AND PAY:
Email rebecca@base-uk.co.uk confirming which days you will attend, menu choices if staying for dinner, and any dietary requirements or allergies the hotel need to be aware of. If you are booking for more than one person, please specify details for each person. Once your booking information has been received you will be emailed an invoice and confirmation of your place will be sent once payment is received. Invoices are sent via QuickBooks so if you do not receive it, please check your spam/junk mailbox, or contact me as soon as possible.
PLEASE NOTE – NO PAYMENT = NO BOOKING. Last date for booking is 15th January 2024.
Payment must be made by 21st January 2024 to secure your booking, and if we do not receive payment by that date, you will not have a place. Refunds are not available.

ACCOMMODATION: If you require B&B at The Crowne Plaza, please follow this LINK to receive our preferential rate. (You need to contact me to book your conference place – please do not forget!). Please ensure you amend the dates and number of people occupying the room as required but do not alter the rate as this has already been fixed. Alternatively call the hotel directly on 0115 9369936 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and state that you are booking for the BASE-UK conference.
By booking directly you will receive the preferential B&B rate of £120/room/night for single occupancy (£15 additional charge for double occupancy – please note that the link will not show this additional charge, but the hotel will contact you about this), and free parking under the hotel is also included (saving £16/day). If you decide to book via a 3rd party internet site, you will not show on the BASE-UK bedroom booking list and may not benefit from the same offer we have been given. If you experience any problem with bookings, please contact me as soon as possible.
Travel Information:
Please note, to get to the hotel car park, please use the postcode NG1 5FW in your Satnav, not the hotel’s postcode. There is access directly from the car park into the hotel.

The nearest train station is Nottingham which is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel or there are 2 trams heading for the city centre. Get off at Royal Centre Stop (3 stops from the station).
The nearest airport is East Midlands. There is a bus service (Sky Link) from the airport to Nottingham.

- Wednesday 7th February:
- 8.30 am – Registration.
- 9.30 am – Conference commences.
- 5.30 pm - close of conference first day.
- 7.30 pm – Dinner - prompt.
- Thursday 8th February:
- 8.30 am – Registration. (Please check in even if you attended on day 1).
- 9.30 am – Conference commences.
- 4.30 pm – Conferences closes – refreshments will be available if required prior to leaving.
